The Local Fish Project
Saraspe Seafoods was founded on the values of family, fishing heritage, and bringing local seafood directly to the hands of people who care about where their food comes from. While we continue seasonal seafood distribution when the conditions and catch allow, our primary work today is focused on advocacy, education, and community-building within the commercial fishing industry.
Through our public benefit initiative, The Local Fish Project, we support:
– California’s working fishermen and their families
– Transparent, sustainable seafood systems
– Programs and storytelling that uplift our coast and its people
Much of this work takes place behind the scenes, through partnerships, consulting, resource creation, and outreach efforts. Whether it’s connecting chefs with local boats, coordinating workshops, or supporting next-generation fishermen, we’re here to build a better future for coastal communities.
Like the tide, this business has shifted over the years. With a newborn in my arms and a slower fishing season on deck, our operations have evolved, and Local Fish has become a way to stay rooted in our purpose, even as life and business ebb and flow.
